Last Christmas, taking the Eurostar to Brussels Midi (alas, not Gare du Nord), then on to Cologne and Vienna, Robert Rotifer, carrying a Telecaster and a notebook, took a trip to the flatlands of northern Burgenland at the Austro-Hungarian border to meet the band Bo Candy and his Broken Hearts at their strictly analogue studio in a converted old mill. He had translated a song called "Die Möwen" by Viennese songwriter and mutual friend Ernst Molden to be recorded for Bo Candy's next album. It only took a couple of takes to put down the backing track straight onto stereo. Exclusive to Ebbsfleet International, this version features Robert on lead vocals. Bo Candy and his Broken Hearts' original version with singer Thomas Pronai taking the lead will be out October 25.
